First Annual Scarecrow Competition ~ October 2020

October means Halloween, and Halloween means scarecrows – and all through the month of October, 2020, the Carlisle Country Market is holding its first annual Scarecrow Competition.

The contest begins on Friday, October 2, and ends on Halloween. Winners will be announced on Saturday, November 7.

Entry forms, including rules and instructions, are available at the check-out counter at the Market.

Anyone can enter – Individuals, families, groups, businesses, and organizations. We’re also looking for the artistic, the funniest, and the scariest scarecrows for special prizes.

The scarecrows will be displayed on hay bales in front of the Market and judged by visitors and patrons to the Market throughout October. Pick up a judging card at any of the vendors, then drop off the completed card at the check-out counter.

On Halloween, the cards will be counted up, and the winners notified by phone and on the Market’s Facebook page.

Eight winners will be selected, with three “Special Recognition” prizes.

Good luck to everyone who enters!

And don’t stop with just apples . . . Pick up some fresh tomatoes,  bananas, pears, squash, and a great variety of fresh herbs.  If you can’t find it here, you aren’t looking!
