Home-Made Fasnachts at the Bair’s Den Café

Lent begins with Ash Wednesday on Wednesday, March 1, 2017, and Shrove Tuesday – also known as “Fasnacht Day” – will be observed on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017.

From now until Saturday, Feb. 25, Jacinda Bair will take orders for her home-made and home-baked Fasnachts at the Bair’s Den Café.

She offers these varieties ~

  • Glazed
  • Powdered Sugar
  • Cinnamon Sugar

Filled Fasnachts are available, too, with these fillings ~

  • Vanilla Cream
  • Bavarian Cream
  • Peanut Butter Cream
  • Strawberry

And these frostings ~

  • Chocolate
  • Vanilla
  • Peanut Butter

To order, you may call Jacinda at 717-634-8087 – or fill out the online order form through her website, including the time and date of your pick-up.

Orders must be pre-paid by Saturday, Feb. 25. Orders may be picked up on Tuesday, Feb. 28.

New Year’s Eve Hours at the Market

With New Year’s Day (Jan. 1, 2017) falling on a Sunday this holiday season, the Carlisle Country Market will observe regular business hours.

New Year’s weekend ~
Thursday, Dec. 29 – 7 am to 4 pm
Friday, Dec. 30 – 7 am to 4 pm
Saturday, New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31 – 7 am to 2 pm

The Market will be closed on Sunday, New Year’s Day.

“Black Friday” and “Small Business Saturday” at the Market ~ Nov. 25-26, 2016

The Carlisle Country Market will be open during regular business hours through the remainder of the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, Friday, Nov. 25, and Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016.

On Friday, the Market will be open 7 am to 4 pm.

On Saturday, the Market will be open 7 am to 2 pm.

Out shopping on Black Friday? The Market is the perfect place to take a break! Enjoy a hot drink, a hot lunch, or a sandwich. Tired of leftover turkey, but no time to cook? Pick up a dinner to warm up at home. We have comfortable seating throughout the Market, too.

On Small Business Saturday, why not patronize the small businesses at the Carlisle Country Market? You’ll find many unique and one-of-a-kind holiday gifts in our specialty shops – everything from handcrafted jewelry to eco-dyed scarves, pillows and quillows to hats and mittens made of alpaca wool.

And don’t forget our Salvation Army bell-ringers! They’ll be out in front of the Market, accepting any amount you would care to give in their red kettle.

The Carlisle Country Market will be observe these hours through the Thanksgiving holiday and weekend ~

Wednesday, Nov. 23 – 7 am to 4 pm. If you are picking up a Thanksgiving take-out dinner from Jacinda Bair at the Bair’s Den Café, you may do so from 1 pm to 4 pm.

Thursday, Nov. 24, Thanksgiving Day – Closed for Thanksgiving Day. However, if you are picking up a Thanksgiving take-out dinner from Jacinda, you may do so from 8 am to 12 noon.

Friday, Nov. 25 – 7 am to 4 pm, the Market’s regular hours.

Saturday, Nov. 26 – 7 am to 2 pm, the Market’s regular hours.

Thanksgiving Dinners for Take-Out

At the Bair’s Den Café, Jacinda Bair is taking orders for Turkey Dinner take-outs for Thanksgiving. Dinner includes large servings of ~

  • Turkey and stuffing
  • Mashed potatoes and gravy
  • Harvard beets and brown butter green beans
  • Cranberry Salad
  • Home-made dinner rolls

Items can be substituted, if available. Please indicate if the dinner is to be hot or cold. You may also select foil pans or microwave-safe dishes.

Dinners must be ordered by Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016.

Dinners will be available for pick-up on the following days and times ~

  • Wednesday, Nov. 23 – 1 pm to 4 pm
  • Thursday, Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24 – 8 am to 12 noon

The price of one dinner is $14.99, plus tax. If you order 5 or more dinner, the price of each is $13.99, plus tax.

Veterans’ Day Hours at the Market ~ Friday, Nov. 11, 2016

Veterans’ Day falls on a Friday this year, Nov. 11, 2016. The Carlisle Country Market will be open their regular Friday hours of 7 am to 4 pm.

The Market will also be open on Saturday during their regular hours of 7 am to 2 pm.

Every day can be Veterans’ Day when you remember our troops serving overseas with a donation of personal care items – toothbrushes, toothpaste, decks of cards, stick deodorant, small flashlights, and baby wipes in small packages. The AmVets Ladies Auxiliary collects these items in a box near the cash register. Thank you, ladies!

The Market salutes all of our military veterans!

Pumpkins, Turkeys, and Seasonal Hot Drinks at the Market

Fall is here, and the Market’s vendors are ready to serve you and yours for the upcoming holidays!

At the Java Junky, you’ll find pumpkin-pie and pumpkin-spice drinks, including Lattes, Cappuccinos, Chai, Smoothies, and Coffee.

Bartoli Produce has cider, fresh honey, pumpkins and squash, and pumpkins for your pumpkin pie.

And at Mama Bair’s Subs, Carolyn Bair is taking orders for fresh turkeys. Never frozen and with no additives, these turkeys are raised on local farms. Prices vary by size. Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016, is the deadline to order. Pick-up is on Tuesday, Nov. 22, or Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016. You may also schedule another pick-up date with Carolyn.

Holiday Treats and Fasnachts at the Bair’s Den Café

It’s not too soon to start thinking of homebaked and homemade treats and desserts for your holiday table. And you can find everything you need at the Bair’s Den Café.

From now until Dec. 31, 2016, Jacinda Bair is taking orders for a variety of cookies, pies, desserts, and cakes. You can drop by the Bair’s Den Café and place your order, or fill out the order form on her website.

Jacinda is also offering her homemade Fasnachts, beginning at 7 am, on the second Friday of every month from now until December 31, 2016. Future dates are ~
